Eye for an Eye

There was a small family consist of father, mother, the older, and the younger. They lived happily until a disaster happened. The two kids desired to help their mother cooked. Mother asked the older to bring a knife from shelf in the dinning room, while the younger was serving plates.

The older ran carelessly towards the kitchen with a knife on his hand. But unfortunately, he slipped and the knife hit the younger’s eyes. And soon the younger was rushed to the hospital.

Poor the younger, the doctor said his eyes cannot be saved and he had to live with one eye all his life.

The story like this usually end up with words like “the younger forgive his brother even though he must be blind for life.” But heeeey, do you think it’ll gonna end up that well? What I am talking here is all about treatment to the older after the incident. The older would have chewed out so badly by his parents.

Everybody knows that all happened, cannot be changed. The younger will be blind, even though the brother feels very very sorry. But still, the older always in haunted by guilt like “it was all your fault your brother goes blind.” The older will be blamed, although that incident was happened not on purpose, although it’s useless to have blame on him.

Does eye should be paid with eye too so he won’t be blame anymore? What to Choose? Revenge or Let Go?
